Spring 2005
June 23 2005
Cod and Haddock showed up two miles off the beach! We have seen Cod in this close before but not Haddock! Big schools of breeder Haddock were gobbling clam baits right off the beach! Anglers enjoyed the 20 minute boat ride to catch These Haddocks along with a few 10 pound Cod fish!
A few offshore trips produced Cod to 42 lbs! A banner day was had by a few groups as these large fish were hovering an edge looking for a meal!
Bass and blues have made a great showing off Gloucester. Half day trips were catching a few Haddock for the dinner table and a few bass and Blues to here the spinning reels scream.
A few tuna have been caught as well, late August into September has been when the big schools of School Tuna,{ 50-200 lbs} have showed up and actively feeding. If you would like a chance at some of these we still have some open dates in Sept.
Fathers day was great as some of my best custmers Kevin, Geno and Eric took the Kids out and also invited my boy Jake along for a great day!

After loosing a week to a major nor easter we have been out every day with a few marathon trips mixed in . Commercial fishing on the inside spots opened June first. To avoid tangling with gill nets we have moved to the east. There is more bait than I have seen in a few years on the banks. The first giant Basking Shark swam by the boat yesterday indicating the surplus's of plankton and shrimp creel in the water..A great sign.
Cod and Haddock fishing has been pretty steady with some banner days mixed in. Bait fishing has definitely out fished the jig fisherman wanting them to swap over to bait for instant hook-ups.

Striper have been reported caught outside Gloucester on live Mackerel. We will be loading the striper gear this week. Twighlight delight trips will be run Thursday through Sunday starting mid June!

Tons of bait fish have moved in to the waters of Gloucester! Large schools of Cod and Haddock are chasing these schools and are hungry! Bait fishing seems to be the way to go but the largest Haddock of the year was caught on a Jig by a skilled angler. Kevin Bounced his secret jig over a known Cod hot spot to land a 13 lb Haddock!
A great week of Fishing aboard the Kayman Too! A short ride {under one hour} put us on non-stop action of Cod and tons of Haddock! We also had to 26 lbs.The bite was mostly on bait but the largest Haddock of the year was caught on a jig, it tipped the scales at 14 lbs!
Wednesday through Sunday the bite was non-stop with the skilled anglers catching up to 35-40 Haddock and Cod! Most of the Cod were 5-25 lbs. Filling fish totes quickly.
It has been non stop filleting as well! There are so many Haddock around even the commercial limits have been lifted. These Haddock will stay inshore for a few more weeks then they usually move to the deeper water on the east side of the bank. The Summer trips to these spots are also spiced with school Tuna to make a great trip!

Haddock action has been spiced with some nice Cod and a few wolfish!

The Kayman Too fished on Jeffrys ledge and Stellwagon Bank last week. On the menu were Large Haddock! All hands caught a great amount of Haddock mixed with Cod and Wolfish. Most days once the fish sensed the smell of the baits, it was nonstop action with most anglers hooking up as soon as the bait hit the bottom.
There is no limit on the Haddock so the Captain says "keep em coming!!" A short boat ride 45 minutes to Stellwagon gives plenty of fishing time!
Unlimited Haddock trips keeping angler busy!

I am now trying to access my new site!! A new program that makes my site look better was designed by Cliff at Rusty Nuts and Bolts.com I think he did a great job. Now I have to figure out how to update it so here goes!!
Mid March thru April we were on schools of Cod fish so large that every time we dropped on them all rods went down! Most days under two hours we had our 70 -80 Cod fish with average weight being around 15 lbs!
The fish are still around but are getting spawned out and the action is not as fast.. Its still great fishing!
More Pictures of our last few months coming soon!!
March
March fishing has started of slow, In the past few trips we have stopped on schools of Cod to 30 pounds and all hands caught there limits.
These same schools do not seem to be in the same place the day. The fish are defiantly starting to move in and it looks like a great spring!!
Call the Captain for open dated and an updated report
