Cod fishing continues to be " as good as it gets!" limits of market and Steaker to Whale Cod are being hefted over the Gunwales of the Kayman Too. The bite has been on bait or jigs, some days they are not choosy but others they are.

December had very few good days this year, we only got out a few times. The January thaw was awsome! Calm conditions and lots of Haddock and Cod.

All the large breeders have done there thing and sliped into the deep for now, we expect them back in March. A few lucky groups have enjoyed this winter fishing and brought home some tasty filets!

Spring trips are filling in give us a call to book your trip soon.

Thanks for a great 2005

November 30 2005

The good November weather has allowed us to run most days this Month! We have run 18 very succesfull trips so far for the month. Most days we were done early as limits were reached or we were knee deep in fish with all the boxes filled!

Novembers Largest fish goes to Chris Wojciak of Chiccopee Ma. He landed a 61 pound Cod fish on Nov 21st

A lot of nice fish were caught this month, late Oct to November lots of bait shows up on the banks with many hungry fish looking to feed on them! All the fish have been caught on jigs. From the basic cheapy to the fancy shaped jigs they all seem to work equally well.

November 10 2005

Large Pollock and Cod have been peeling drags and making long runs! Line singing off of reels has been the theme for the week. Pollock, aka "the bullet" the hardest fighting ground fish have been plentifull for the lat few weeks. Anglers are having a ball hooking these rocket fish!

Large Cod have also been in the mix, not as many as previous years as the water has not cooled down yet. I think December will be a great Cod Month this year!

November 3 2005

After a long windy October with a blown engine,The Kayman Too is on some of the best ground fishing there is! The fishing is all on jigs in shallower water than the summer months. Large Pollock and Cod along with some of the largest Haddock we have seen are consistantly hammering the offerings!

This fall fisherie has been consistant even the novice anglers are enjoying the action along with enough fillets to fill there freezer for what looks to be a long winter! I have only a few more weekdays left open in Nov..More pics tocome soon!!

September 30 2005

Great Tuna action this week as the peanut bunker move out the Tuna are hitting the trolled squid bars more regularly!. Some larger Tuna were in the area so we took a ride on tuesday to return with a Tuna that went 350 lbs!

Ground fishing was hot last week as well, a marathon trip with John Galipeau and his group of skilled anglers returned with 8 fish over thirty pounds! The largest one was 42 pounds caught on a jig by John. The group landed over 1000 lbs. of hole fish yielding 300lbs. of fillets for stocking the freezer. John and his group will return next month for the large Cod and Pollock run...

While trolling for Tuna we saw all kinds of splashing ahead and went to check it out. It was Three mother Humpback whales with their calf's, they were rubbing up against each other playing and slapping their pectoral fins against the water to create loud smacks. A closer look also determined a school of dolphins frolicking with the whales. It was quite a site even for myself who sees whales every day!

Sept 15 2005

This past week Tuna have been hitting trolled squid bars. This is all top water fishing, anglers watch the lures carefully as Tuna come up from behind and explode on the trolled rigs. Some of the fish crash the side lures and don't get hooked as others fly out of the water and inhale the stinger to pop the out rigger clip and light up the reel!

Cod and Haddock fishing has been good with some large Cod lurking in the depths east of Stellwagon Bank. Bait fishing is still the way to go.A good amount of the fish are starting to produce spawn, this is a good sign of a great Fall season, November is the typical start of the monster Cod and Pollock Fall run.We still have some openings but don't delay!

Sept 8 2005

Outside of Gloucester has been loaded with Peanut Bunker,Billions of them. This has attracted Bluefish, Bass, Tuna and Whales. Early morning has been the best action for most fishing. Top water ambushes of bait have been quite a site, we have been hooking Tuna on Spinning rods! Bluefish have been acres long slamming top water plugs and empting tackle boxes..mine anyways!

Cod and Haddock fishing has been steady some day the strong tide tested anglers skills and only the experienced had the steady bite. Dog fish have still not appeared on the Cod grounds making for enjoyable fishing!

November Spawn season will be here soon. For those who go every year know that means a steady bite of Large Cod, Pollock and Haddock. November is when you get a good shot at a fish over 50 pounds, 62 pounds is our largest November Cod. This fish was hooked on a jig by Rich Jennings, the 40 pounders that followed didn't stand a chance ot the pool that day.Yes rich and the group have already booked that special day!
