Young Mr Hart Claims a Keeper Cod
Here we are at the end of August and also the end of our Cod and Haddock season this year. In April the government put up a new ruling that prohibited recreational anglers to possess Cod and Haddock in the Gulf of Maine in September and October.
This is a result of very poor managing by our government who changed the way commercial boat fish three years ago. They allowed them to catch all there fish for the year in one day if they choose. This wiped out the huge stocks of Cod in the gulf of Maine. Now we are all out of business.
I want to thank everyone of you who fished with us this year as well as the ones who have fished in the past years that I did not have room for this year. The fishing was very good all year with a few slow days here and there. On the most part even the experienced ground fisherman had sore arms when the Lisa&Jake tied the lines up at the end of the day.
Lisa would also like to thank all the guests who stayed at Lisa’s Lookout and look forward to seeing you all next season.
The boat will be fishing for Tuna, Pollock. Cusk ,Redfish and what ever else we can catch until the end of the year. I apologize for the lack of weekly reports and picture, The boat was fishing almost every day and left the crew exhausted at the end of the day.
