Last weeks fishing was up and down as the dog fish moved into our grounds to the east, We went a long time this year before we were bothered by the “dogs”. The colder water temps were keeping them at bay. Groups did fish through them to land some nice Cod and Haddocks, but we were forced to move several times.
Gloucester Charter boat Lisa&Jake has been on the Cod,Haddock fishing grounds.
Clients have been into some numbers of big Bull Haddock and some large Market Cod this week. Some nice fish have been coming over the gunwales this week!
Some of the great folks have been enjoying their stay at Lisa’s lookout and having lobster cook outs and using the fire pit to roast marshmallows before getting a good night sleep in the new comfy beds. This is making for a great experience to add to the fishing trip!
The fishing has been mostly on bait with a handful of fish for those who like to bounce a jig. Clam baits are the way to go so far, even when some of the fish have been stuffed with Herring, they prefer the baits.
Coming up this Summer is a lot of overnight safaris, most groups are booking these trips to replace their fall meat run as there is no Cod and Haddock after Aug 31 this year. There is still a lot of weekday safaris available as well as some shared Safari trips.
Next open boat shared trip is June 26
