Last weeks trips included a jigging trip with some of Kayman Too’s veteran anglers. These guys didn’t miss a fish on the edges of Stellwgon bank! Nice Market sized Cod were caught on tube teasers and diamond jigs. When the tide picked up the Lisa&Jake was anchored to try for some of those Bull Haddock. Although we did not top last weeks catch, they did land a dozen of those nice silver monster Haddock. Memorial day weekend will get weathered in so we will try for some flounder in the river and Gloucester Harbor were the reports have said to be good.
The Lisa&Jake and the Kayman Too have been on what’s seems to be the best fishing so far this year. The Stewart Stump group who has been fishing with Kayman Charters for fifteen years had a one stop drop mid-week. The guys are all 70-80 years young! Their patience and circle hooks helped them to land over 100 fish! These guys did not leave the rail all day! Congrats to them!
Capt. Rob on the Kayman Too reports of some excellent jig fishing on Cod. His group of long time jig fisherman had the talent to fill the boxes of the Kayman Too with some nice Market Cod.
Earlier in the week at a different location it was a two stop day, Large Haddock were defiantly catch of the day, These 8-10 pound fish are absolutely beautiful coming up from the depths as well as a pleasure to see! The boat has seen more numbers of these fish every day. Market sized Cod have seemed to replace the scrod of the weeks before making for some nice sized fillet bags for everyone! Lisa’s Lookout has been accommodating anglers who have enjoyed cookouts of fresh fish and lobsters on the private patio after the days events, Lisa still has some openings at her lodge for ST Peters day weekend festival. Last weeks Charters saw some good action with a mix of Cod and some of the biggest Haddock of the year! Besides the consistent Cod bite Large Bull Haddocks to 10 pounds doubled over the Shimano rods from the Lisa&Jake! These fish were eating clam baits of the bottom of Jeffery’s ledge.Saturday the wind was predicted to come up out of the south so we headed that way to get the easy ride in and check out some new fishing spots. After the second stop all the rods doubled over with large Haddock! The crew ended up getting 34 of these bulls!
Capt Rob on the Kayman Too reported they scored fishing on some of the rock piles around Tillies ledge to get limits of Cod as well as some large Haddock.
