A few trips to Stellwagon we found some Larger Cod that were feeding on Herring. After a bumpy day anchored and catching a few nice Cod we decided to drift with some jigs with the Scott and the jigging maniacs of Longisland!
Well the boys got into some of the best Cod of the Summer the last few days!
The Tuna bite continues off Gloucester were recreational size Tuna are giving anglers a battle on stand-up gear. Fifty series Shimanos with the smoothest drag ever, are put to the test when these beauties hit the baits! The battle continues to land these fish but the rods light up over and over again when the fish sees the boat!
The shared Tuna charter landed a nice 60 pound fish as well last week to give those on board some great excitement and Tuna steaks for the barby!
The ground fishing last week saw a few more Cod the previous trips, the Haddock seemed to slow up in a couple of spots as did the fierce Blue Sharks that were eating all the Large fish as they were brought up. When these large Sharks, most 200-300 pounds arrive a Shark rig is quickly deployed and it does not take long for the fight to begin! After a battle the Sharks are released and seem to swim away not to bother the catch any more.
Shared trips will be going on through the rest of the season, Sept 14 and Oct 15 are the next ones open. If you did not receive the Kayman News letter with lot of info that was e-mailed last week please e-mail me and you will be sure to get one.
Another great week of fishing landed nice recreational Tuna catches of some Fat fish!
Clients experienced multiple hook-ups and limiting out on Tuna catches for some great fish for Sushi or steaks on the barby!
Large Haddock are abundant on the ground fish trips! Average Haddock are around 8-9 pounds with a few monsters in the mix. Cod fish are still making a show with last weeks large Cod at 19 pounds.
Shared Tuna trip Sept 7 still has openings and the shared ground fish trip is scheduled for Sept 14

A Few pictures of the overnight trip offshore were Cod fishing was as good as it gets with Cod to thirty plus pounds and many twenty five pounders as well! This trip left at 10pm with a nice ride to the grounds the boat arrived at the grounds for a daybreak bite. With the fish stacked up fifteen feet high it was lock and load fishing! Every time the jig hit bottom it was “FISH ON”. The group fished as long as they could limiting out on Large Cod plus boxes of Haddock and Pollock to add to the catch!
August has been a prime time for large Sharks! With the water temp in the seventies these hungry creatures are everywere! The commotion of fish being caught attracks these creatures to the boat and they seem to wait for the larger fish that struggle more to take a bite!
The other day folks had what could have been a record Haddock and all that came up was a huge head. Held next to a 9 pound haddock that was caught this fish was estimated to be over fifteen pounds):
The Tuna bite was turned on last week with double hook-ups and many single bites! The groups caught their own baits early during the day picking out the lucky ones..They were all Lucky one day as every bait hooked a Tuna! The limits were caught and the rest tagged and released!
The Haddock fishing has been producing some large Haddock at key spots. Smaller Haddock have been abundant everywere but some spots hold the beauties!
