Despite the lousy weather this week the boats did fish a couple of days. There was scattered Tuna on the day we got out. Capt. Rob on the Kayman Too did manage to sneak one out between a parade of boats one day. The fish was 54 inches, one of the smaller ones.
Ground fish seems to be lighting up as fall nears and the weather cools. A good number of healthy sized Cod were caught just east of the thirty fathom ledge. The cod were hitting jigs and bait but the all the prize Haddocks were hooked on a bait rig.
Capt Rob made a note in his log book that was large enough for me to see while on the dock. It said NO DOGS! Again this week they were very scarce
Tuna and Cod trips will continue into the early part of October then the boats will be taking the Ground fish guys out to fill there freezers for the winter.
These trips have been filling in quick! Check the calender on kaymancharters.com and hold your spot today.
