Fall Cod and Haddock is getting better each trip! Nice fish to 44 pounds were taken last week with a great number of large Markets to 15 lbs! This fall fishing is filling totes on the quick side as well as a few slammer Pollock to test the wary arms of already sore anglers!
A few Tuna were also taken on the Kayman Too. Capt Rob fished some of his herring filled edges and with all rods sporting his specially designed jigs and methods they managed to land two nice recreational Tuna for the grill!
October is filling quick so don’t hesitate on your chance to fill the freezer for the cold weather

Some more banner Cod trips this week as some nice pockets of 15-30 lb fish move in to the shoaler waters! Haddock are also showing in good numbers. The jig guys are getting a generous helping of them as the bait stops are filling a few totes! Fishing has been mostly drifting and jigging as the fish are spread out across certain areas of the harder bottoms.A few bait stops when the haddock start to come over the rail are with great results.

Here is a video on a 300 pound Blue fin caught on a live Mackerel on the Lisa&Jake
The ocean seemed like a desert that day with very little life. Suddenly this Tuna flew all the way out of the water and inhaled the bait.
North east storms beginning of the week kept the boats tied to the dock for a few days. The return to the sea on the week end provided a stir up with Tuna reappearing in good numbers! A handful of recreational size fish showed up chasing half-beaks to there fearful death!
Unfortunately the Lisa & Jake hooked a larger one on the lighter gear that after a long battle straightened out a Tuna Hook. Exhausted anglers were disappointed with the return of the broken hook.
Cod and Haddock fishing was as it was before the blow with the exception of some fish moving into the closer grounds. A 24 pound Pollock was taken as well as some nice Cod to 20 lbs on one of the inside spots!
Cod fishing has been the best this Summer and looks great going forward!

We took out the Kayman Too on Wednesday with Rob and Josh. We wish to complement their professionalism and tireless work ethic. Perhaps you hear this all the time, but we were impressed with their hard work, not just putting us on fish but also and in every detail making us feel comfortable.
Although we agreed to a 9 hour charter, it did not go unnoticed that we arrived back at the dock at 4:00 PM. That is a very long day for Rob and Josh. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute, and look forward to joining you next year.
The last few Tuna trips have resulted in some great action as fish are slamming baits from the kite as well as free swimmers! An action shot is almost impossible to get but the sight of the giant fish coming right out of the water and inhaling the bait is one not to ever forget!
The Tuna have been very active on some days, usually the breezy overcast ones, but still on the summer doldrum days.
The largest so far this year was caught by the Joel Rawson group who did a great job bringing there fish to the side of the boat. The fish weighed a little under 300 pounds! A video was made of the fight and should be up on the sight soon!
Cod fishing remains steady, a lot of action looking for the larger fish as there are a good amount of short fish mixed in. The jigs are not fishing long before they are hooked up! Most groups have had no problem catching their limit of Cod.
Tuna, Tuna everywhere! No matter where you go you will see Tuna crashing and surface feeding! From right outside Gloucester out to our furthest Haddock spots at some points during the day they are as far as you can see. Placing the right baits in the right spots gets the unbelievable hook up and fight of your life!
A ton of action the last few days with multiple hook ups and fish landed to 180lbs.Fishing with the kite gets anglers involved in fine tuning the right bait preparation and watching the Tuna explode on the surface bait!
The bottom bite also remains steady as Cod and Haddock are being jigged up from the deeper waters of the banks. Cod to 21 pounds slammed jigs last week along with mostly large Market sized fish mixed in with some Bull Haddocks.
The Strong moon tide made it tough for a few groups who did an excellent job rotating around the boat to keep the lines straight.
Aug 13 is a Split Tuna trip 4 person Max call or email for more info
Cod fishing remains good to great! Some of the inshore spots opened up last week with anglers limiting out in no time with 10-20lb fish! There are some real nice schools of Cod fish around and getting on them has not been a problem. All the action has been on jigs and teasers non working better than others.
Split Tuna trips grabbed a 175 pound Bluefin Tuna last week on the troll. This fish was fought by all on a 50 series stand -up rig with a harness. The fight lasted one and a half hours!
Next split trip is July 27th a few more open spots visit www.kaymancharters.com to sign up
Never before have we seen so much Cod fish show up in July! Cod fishing now is blowing away our Spring fishery. Limits of Cod fish have been caught even by first timers this past week. The fish seem to be spread out so nice long drifts are the norm.
Cod fish have been Market sized with a 15lbers spicing up the action. These fish all come from 200 plus ft of water were the temp is still 43 deg. The fish are feeding off the bottom on crabs and urchins which makes the meat much firmer and tastier than fish on eels! All the fishing has been on jigs so there is no messy bait to use and no Dog fish!” Which by the way Marine Fisheries has announced is now fully recovered” We should all send them a letter of congratulations for a job well done!!
For those who think you have to go out when the weather is freezing and the seas are rough to catch Cod,we invite you to a great day of relaxing Cod fishing. You can even rest your favorite beverage on the gunwale while you reel em” in!!
Lots of Tuna around as well for those who would like to mix up the trip and try to land one of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean!
