Fishing Report – Week of March 23, 2009

The Lisa&Jake was fishing over the weekend and found some huge schools of Haddock!

These large amounts of Spawning fish to 10 lbs filled totes quickly as one to two fish were hooked on every drop! Small 7oz crippled herring with white tails got ambushed before they hit the bottom. Bait set ups were working just as well, and some anglers got 3 fish on one bait before changing it. These schools of Haddock usually hold and bloom into larger ones as the water warms.

The Commercial boats are still getting large Cod in the area outside Gloucester that opens April 1. We have checked out a few local spots and it looks like the month will open with a Bang.

Two new Crafts with enclosed heated cabins will be ready to fish on April 1st.  Single spots are still available. Visit kaymancharters.com or give a call at 888-7-KAYMAN to reserve your spot.
