Cod Fishing report

This Summers ground fishing has been the best in years! Cod fish are as plentiful as Spring. Large Pollock are also lurking in some of the usual spots so spice up the action.
Haddock are strong in certain spots with few dogs in the mix. This years Haddock are averaging much larger than in the past years, The Haddock are hitting jigs but still preferring the baits.
Early AM trips have seen incredible action as Cod are feeding high in the water column in the dark. At false daybreak the fish are slamming jigs 20′ under the boat! This has made for some incredible fast action that fills the boxes by Sun -up. Mate Matty has been cooking up special break fast sandwiches on these trips to give anglers the extra energy they will need. Ask for Capt. Robs pre dawn trip for a different experience
