The Kayman boats have been on lock and load fishing the past few weeks! The boats made it out through all the weather to fill fish totes with limits of Cod fish to 25 lbs! Also in the mix were some very aggressive Pollock, “this is like November fishing ” quoted a few of the regular Kayman fisherman as rods doubled over and drag systems were put to their limits!
Even after the best Haddock fishing season we have ever seen, the Largest Haddock was caught on a jig in 120ft of water on the edge of Stellwagon Bank! This 14.6pound bull head was bigger and fatter than all of the other Haddock that were flopping over the deck in March!
All the fishing was done on jigs of various types and the best teasers were the small shrimp feathers that seamed to land all the large Cod! The butterfly jigs also seam to hold the bottom better and were nailing those fat lazy Cod.
